Healing Requires the Safety to be Vulnerable. The Grit to do the Work and the Tools to feel Empowered.

Let’s get going …

Brown Girls Awakening was born from my desire to be part of workshops and conversations centered around healing and the power of healing. As a Licensed Social Worker, I understand that healing requires the safety to feel vulnerable, the grit to do the work, and the tools to feel empowered.

VISION

My vision is to curate workshops and facilitate conversations centered around trauma-informed care, social emotional well-being, and community accountability. With the understanding that those with most experience, are the best teachers, coaches, and mentors to help teach and learn from one another.

Workshops

Workshops are created to help participants walk away with a better understanding of how their emotional health takes a toll on their overall health. By learning how to manage and balance their own emotions, participants will focus on setting goals and identifying the next steps needed to achieve their goals. They will walk away feeling empowered to make choices that can best support their future.

SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL WELLNESS WORKSHOP

Workshop designed to support participants with learning how to use their words and thoughts more effectively to affect their well-being.

One on One Coaching

Personalized sessions are designed to help individuals reach their desired personal growth outcomes. We will have one on one discussions of the following things can show up and block personal growth: Imposter Syndrome, Negative Self-Esteem, Trauma, and Negative Generational thinking patterns. Once we identify what the blocks are, we can work together to develop the steps needed for tangible change.

Imposter Syndrome

Self-Esteem Building

Self Care Tools

“In the past, I would attend workshops and felt that others in the room didn’t share my experience as a woman of color. I realized those experiences were radically different depending on many factors, some of which included but not limited to: education, financial status, and race/nationality. I found these spaces lacked the history and ancestor's knowledge I was yearning for. I left these workshops feeling emotionally drained and it wasn’t until I was able to clearly identify why I felt drained that the solution became clear to me. Create the kind of workshop that would help anyone in their healing and needs without leaving the factors of education, financial status, and race/nationality out of the healing.
